Schools have specific curriculum standards that provide our students with the higher capability to learn. Also standardized testing provides administrators with deciding what our students are having problems with and all what knowledge of what our students are learning in the classroom. This will help our schools they excel in.
More than half of the country’s public school students are white. Children of color make up the majority of public school enrollments in six states and many school districts. Children of color also constitute a majority of students in two-thirds of the nation’s 50 largest school districts, and over 90% of enrollments in several of the nation’s largest districts. In major U.S. cities classrooms are more culturally diverse.
A majority of teachers have advanced degrees as well as more then 10 years of experience. This means not only are our teachers well educated but have stay in the system for quite some time and have great experiences with our schools. Nine out of ten of the teachers are white as well as eight out of ten teachers are female.

i feel testing is a good thing and a bad thing. Some students are not always good test takes but are excellent students in class!
I feel that teachers who teach in their area of concentration are good teachers because they have the
passion to teach that specific ubject. Sometimes a teacher might not teach in their area of concentration and hate the subject. When this happens their students hate the subject and don't learn anything.
I read in your report that you have a large amount of children of color. How does having a multicultural group of students shape education? Are teachers prepared in college to deal with this situation? Do teachers adapt what they teach to the cultural or socioeconomic backgroud of their students?
If there is a great amount of minority group students, why are teachers mostly white? Are minority group college students not taking teaching as a career?
in response to what future spanish teacher said...
I believe that having a multicultural group of students shapes education because it gives many different people including the students a different perspective instead of just the "american way." I also think that many college professors are ready to deal with this because they know that the place we live is a very diverse place.
Also I think that the reason many teachers are white is because early on in history blacks and other races weren't allowed to teach white students so many people who wanted to teach did not for the reason that they thought they would not get a job. This is obviously different now and anyone who wanted to teach who was qualified could do so.
I don't think I exactly agree with your methods of testing students to scale their level of knowledge. Don't you think that people who don't test well are still smart? Isn't it hard to learn and teach when you have test guidelines to follow?
in response to history buff...
I believe that although sometimes standardized testing like the SAT's aren't truly fair, I believe that the HSPA high school proficiency assessment is very fair because what you learn in high school is outlined so that you should be able to pass this exam. I do not think that just because you may not test well that you aren't as smart considering I am not a good test taker. What I mean is just that if we have guidelines to follow it makes it easier to see what people are having more problems understanding.
As a visitor to your planet I was concerned why so many of your teachers are of only the female sex? Are the male students influenced by this in any way? Are there any obstacles to a male becoming a teacher?
I agree that testing the knowledge of students is a very good thing. Yes it can be frustrating as everything else on earth is. However, students that are brilliant in class activities/participation should be able to gain or learn to gain confidence in knowing how to take and testing occasionally and pass it.
